The parts of your story you do not always know how to say out loud. If traditional therapy has felt too polished, passive, clinical or judgmental, you may be in the right place.
At Strip It Down Therapy, you do not have to edit yourself before you walk into the room.
You can bring the trauma. The addiction. The sexual concerns. The behavior you keep promising yourself you will stop. The thing someone did to you. The thing you are ashamed you did. The thoughts, desires and contradictions that feel impossible to explain.
Therapy here is direct, compassionate, trauma-informed, sex-positive and sometimes funny as hell.
This is not about creating a more socially acceptable version of you. It is about stripping away shame. Questioning old survival patterns. Understanding what is actually true. And building a life with more honesty, choice and self-respect.
In-person appointments are available in Fishers for adults from nearby Hamilton County and Central Indiana communities. Secure online therapy is available to adults throughout Indiana.
Maybe you have tried therapy before. Maybe it helped. But maybe there were still parts you could not quite say.
Or maybe you sat there wondering whether your therapist was silently judging you.
You do not have to clean up your story here. Therapy is not a performance.
We can start with what is actually happening. Then we figure out what needs to change.
People rarely fit into one neat category. Trauma can affect sexuality. Addiction can grow out of attempts to numb pain. Sexual behavior can become a primary coping strategy. Shame can feed avoidance, secrecy and relapse. Identity, relationships and life experience can shape every part of the picture.
Strip It Down Therapy looks at the whole person, including the context behind a behavior and the impact it is having now.
Understand how trauma, PTSD and complex trauma continue to affect your nervous system, trust, boundaries, emotions, sexuality, self-worth and daily life. The work is not about forcing you to relive every detail. It is about recognizing what you learned to do to survive and deciding what still belongs in the life you want now.
Learn more about Trauma & PTSD Therapy →Explore substance use, relapse, recovery, emotional regulation and the pain underneath the pattern. Treatment goes beyond telling you to stop. Together, we look at what the behavior has been doing for you, what it is costing you and what healthier coping can realistically take its place.
Learn more about Addiction & Recovery Therapy →Talk openly about sexuality, sexual shame, identity, desire, kink, BDSM, consensual non-monogamy, pornography use and sexual behavior that feels out of control. Consensual interests are not automatically treated as pathology. The focus stays on consent, safety, choice, impact, emotional health and the goals you choose for yourself.

I am Kim Crider, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor providing individual therapy for adults in Fishers and surrounding Central Indiana communities, along with virtual therapy throughout Indiana.
I have spent more than 30 years working in addiction and more than 15 years treating complex trauma. My work includes trauma and PTSD therapy, addiction counseling, sexuality concerns, sexual shame and Out of Control Sexual Behavior, often called OCSB. I am a member of the global Sexual Health Alliance, trained in treating OCSB and working toward certification as a sex therapist.
Those are the professional pieces. They are not the whole story.
I also bring lived experience to the way I understand people. That does not mean I assume your experience is the same as mine. It means I understand that human beings are complicated. Good people make harmful choices. Strong people fall apart. People use unhealthy things to survive unbearable things. People can know exactly what they 'should' do and still struggle like hell to do it.
I believe you can face what happened, take responsibility for what belongs to you and still refuse to define your entire worth by your worst experience or decision.
And when we need to go somewhere emotionally deep, I'm willing to go there with you.
Sometimes I'll be your biggest cheerleader. There's a reason I call myself the Queen of Validation.
Other times I'm going to compassionately point out that something you're doing isn't getting you where you say you want to go.
Both can be true. Compassion and accountability can exist in the same room. Validation and honesty can exist in the same conversation.
You deserve both.
Trauma does not always look dramatic from the outside. It can look like anger, shutdown, hypervigilance, avoidance, people pleasing, difficulty trusting, substance use, compulsive behavior, sexual concerns, emotional numbness or constant shame.
Trauma-informed care asks more than 'What is wrong with you?' We also ask: What happened? What did you learn to do to survive it? Is that response still protecting you, or is it now limiting your life?
Understanding why a pattern developed does not mean excusing every consequence. It gives us a place to begin that is grounded in context rather than humiliation. The goal is clarity, healing, accountability and meaningful change.
At the center of Strip It Down Therapy is one belief: people are inherently worthy, even when they are hurting and even when they have made choices they regret.
Pain has a way of becoming identity.
Therapy gives us room to separate those things. We can look honestly at what happened, what you learned, what you did to survive, what helped then, what hurts now, where responsibility belongs and what needs to change.
That is what it means to Love Your Naked Truth.
Strip It Down Therapy is LGBTQ+ affirming, kink and BDSM affirming, sex-worker affirming, and supportive of polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous adults. Your sexual orientation, gender identity, consensual interests or relationship structure will not automatically be treated as the problem.
The work centers on what you want help with: trauma, shame, boundaries, consent, trust, emotional health, addiction, communication, jealousy, agreements, sexual concerns or behavior that no longer feels aligned with your values.
You do not have to explain why you exist before we can talk about why you are hurting.

You do not need to decide whether your problem is bad enough. You do not need perfect words. You do not have to diagnose yourself, organize your life into a neat summary or have your shit together before contacting a therapist. That is kind of the point.
If trauma keeps showing up, addiction is taking more than you are willing to lose, sexuality has become confusing or painful, sexual behavior feels out of control, or shame is keeping you stuck, start there.
